Saints Development Program is back! SDP is an in-depth skills training program for Boys & Girls ages 5 to 8 year old. It kicks off Tuesday September 18th for six sessions in September & October from 4:00-4:55pm at Holy Redeemer Soccer Field in North Portland. SDP is an all-inclusive, introductory level program for kids to help pave the way for their long-term technical and skills development helping them prepare for the next levels of competitive soccer. It’s designed as an addition and/or a compliment to a recreational or development team or for those just starting out. We welcome all players from all clubs and teams. The cost is $65. We’re very excited to have the Portland Expo Center as one of our new Saints sponsors. To kick it all off, they’ll be donating a portion of the proceeds to our scholarship fund from their annual Drive-In Movie week from August 15th to 19th. Their Drive-In Movie nights are old school and pretty fun. You drive into the Expo Center area, park your car and watch the movie on a huge screen from the comfort of your car or your own lawn chairs. You can find the list of movies and buy tickets now HERE Each night the Saints will have a booth, a mini soccer pitch and some great give-aways. Tickets are $15 per carload or $5 for bikes/walk-ins.
Saints, OYSA and Eastside Timbers teamed up for a wonderful TOPSoccer event last week at half-time of the Portland Timbers vs. Houston Dynamo game. Players had a great chance to meet Timber Joey, go onto the field at half-time and scrimmage against each other in what was a memorable night for everyone! TOPSoccer is an outreach program for soccer sponsored by US Youth Soccer for children with physical, social, mental or emotional challenges. Through the program we teach valuable soccer and life skills and build community and inclusiveness through the beautiful game!
